WILLCO’s team of skilled craftsmen recently restored the Hopkins’ vintage home in the historic Ladd’s Addition neighborhood of SE Portland. This project started by removing some unfortunate improvements made to the home such as vinyl windows and aluminum siding.
WILLCO then began repairing and restoring the original cedar siding along with trim that had been removed for the installation of aluminum siding.
In an effort to stay historically accurate WILLCO replaced vinyl windows with architecturally correct, double-hung wooden sash windows.
The home also received a new roof, gutters and downspouts before WILLCO’s professional exterior painters completed the transformation using historically appropriate colors and accents designed by ART FIRST COLORS for Architechture.
We want to thank Karen and John for trusting us to work on this project with them. WILLCO’s Team of designers, carpenters and painters worked together to complete this project. Whether working on the interior or exterior, a historic renovation project is an opportunity to preserve and enhance architectural character and integrity.
