WILLCO has begun working with client, Kathy Sharp to remodel the main level of her three story, Portland home in the heart of NW Portland’s Alphabet district. Ms. Sharp is a supporter of the Architectural Heritage Center and their mission and efforts to preserve our cities historic homes, neighborhoods, and traditional commercial areas.
The primary goal of this remodel is to update and improve the flow as well as the function of the home through added accessibility and in keeping with the original architectural style. Currently the space is more traditional, containing many small rooms that are closed off and the basement is accessible only by descending a steep and narrow set of stairs. WILLCO is collaborating with the client to renovate her home through designs that are historically sensitive and that open up the home; moving the great room, kitchen and bath rooms forward and relocating and building stairs that are up to code; so she can more easily access the basement level.
WILLCO’s design build team is hard at work reworking the floor plan to meet our clients’ needs and fully utilize the space. We are excited about what promises to be a stunning remodel and we value Ms. Sharp’s trust in bringing her design build goals to fruition and for her support of the Architectural Heritage Center.
Stay tuned for more updates!
